V1.00 - Release version
V1.01 - This version, fixes an issue with a boss in area 1, an issue with a gimmick in the third area and adds the hub warp button
V1.02 - Fix application surface not getting scaled when manually resizing the window at integer scaling 0/off
V1.03 - Fixed fullscreening causing a crash because of the fix to allow manual resizing. It also scales properly in the case that your resolution is taller than it is wide!
V1.1 - Added indicators for True End and how to get it in the form of new dialogue. Better indicated where to find the 5th secret
V1.2 - Added final area to the map, a slight clarification in area 4, made the final part less obnoxious

Hello! This is a fangame project I spent around a year and a half making. 
It was quite difficult to finish it off because of generally just feeling very anxious about working on it which ended up in a ton of procrastination.
If there's something I learned from this is that you should never try to meet others' expectations.

A fangame about meeting a mysterious person called "Miki". You must traverse through 4 unique worlds in search of tablets that will reveal the stairs to the sky.
Expect bosses, needle and something special outside the regular realms of fangames.

Default controls:

Left Arrow - Move left
Right Arrow - Move right
Up Arrow - Aim up, interaction with certain stage gimmicks
Down Arrow - Aim down, interaction with certain stage gimmicks

Shift - Jump, can be pressed again in the air for a double jump
Z - Punch, hold down to continue punching

P - Pause, shows song info (Up and Down arrow keys can also adjust volume in the pause screen)

H - Warps you back to the Hub (cannot be rebinded)

F2 - Reset
F4 - Toggle Fullscreen

ESC - Close the game

In Options, you can:

Disable Music (You can also do this in-game with Ctrl + M if you so wish)

Adjust Volume

Set to Windowed or Fullscreen

Enable Smoothing Mode (Not recommended unless playing on fullscreen with Integer Scaling disabled)

Change Controls

Enable Integer Scaling. Recommended for players who have 2560x1440 or bigger resolution monitors. 
Might not work properly in case your screen is taller than it is wide. 
Turn this setting to 0 if you want to manually resize your window!

Enable or disable footstep sounds in the 4th area.

P.S. If you do not like the menu color you can go to C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\I_Want_to_Meet_Miki and open config.ini
where you can change the color by setting a value inbetween 0-11. To make sure it changes be sure to close the game and only open/edit the .ini after the game is closed!
P.P.S The easiest way to get into appdata is to type %appdata% into your windows search bar, go back one folder so you see Local, LocalLow and Roaming, and navigate from there.

Area 1 - Adventure focused, best picked first depending on your skill level or if you're just new to playing fangames or just generally prefer this kind of area.
Area 2 - Platforming, or needle focused area with some non-standard gimmicks.
Area 3 - Needle with also some non-standard gimmicks and more commonly used gimmicks.
Area 4 - Special

Expected progression is Area 1 -> Area 2 -> Area 3 -> Area 4 but for experienced players it does not matter.

Now, my grandmother was a wonderful person. She taught me how to play the game Monopoly. She understood that the name of the game is to acquire. She would accumulate everything she could and eventually, she became the master of the board. And eventually every time she would take my last dollar and I would quit in utter defeat.

And then she would always say the same thing to me. She would look at me and say: "One day, you'll learn to play the game." One summer I played Monopoly with a neighbour almost every day, all day long and that summer, I learned to play the game. I came to understand the only way to win is to make a total commitment to acquisition. I came to understand that money and possessions... that's the way that you keep score. And by the end of that summer I was more ruthless than my grandmother. I was ready to bend the rules if I had to, to win that game... and I sat down with her to play that fall. I took everything she had. I destroyed her financially and psychologically, I watched her give her last dollar and quit in utter defeat.

And then she had one more thing to teach me. Then she said: "Now it all goes back in the box. All those houses and hotels. All the railroads and utility companies... All that property and all that wonderful money... Now it all goes back in the box. None of it was really yours. Houses and cars... titles and clothes... bulging portfolios... even your body."

Because the fact is that everything I clutch and consume and hoard is going to go back in the box and I'm going to lose it all. You have to ask yourself, when you finally get the ultimate promotion, when you make the ultimate purchase, when you buy the ultimate home, when you have stored up financial security and climbed the ladder of success to the highest rung you can possibly climb it... and the thrill wears off - and it will wear off - Then what? How far do you have to walk down that road before you see where it leads? Surely you understand it will never be enough.

So you have to ask yourself the question: What matters?
